We are a firm based in Sandton, Johannesburg, that specialises in providing private individual clients with multi-business ownership and managing those businesses on their behalf.
Who we are
A firm that runs what it sells
Most people are told to save. We believe they should own. Our clients hold real stakes in trading businesses — livestock companies, butcheries and fresh produce stores — that supply each other and serve the same communities.
Because ownership without management fails, the daily operations sit with our own team of chartered accountants. They keep the books, meet SARS and CIPC deadlines, run payroll, negotiate with suppliers, control stock and cash, and report the results back to owners every period.
Clients keep their jobs and their lives. We do the running, and explain the numbers in plain language so every owner understands what they own.

Founder of Luthando Maduna & Co Chartered Accountants and designer of the Stratum ecosystem, built so that ordinary people share in at least 90% of the profits of the businesses they own.
Professional journey
Luthando completed his studies at the University of Johannesburg, formerly Rand Afrikaans University, in 2005. In 2008, he started trading through Food Corner, motivated by a vision to help people build ownership through the groceries they buy every day, at a time when the supporting payment infrastructure was far less developed than it is today.
In 2010, he was due to join PwC to complete his training articles, but chose first to gain experience of how government works. He joined the Auditor-General of South Africa in 2012 while continuing his research into Food Corner. His audit work took him across several provinces and exposed him to municipalities, public finance and communities throughout South Africa.
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant and registered with SAICA in 2016. In 2022, after a decade at the Auditor-General, he joined the South African Social Security Agency as a Director responsible for SASSA's financial statements.
Beyond the profession
Having travelled extensively during his Auditor-General years, Luthando values time with his family and long walks. He is a passionate Arsenal supporter and hopes to watch the team play live at the Emirates Stadium one day.
He is deeply concerned about the challenges facing many South Africans. Drawing on lessons from his public-sector audit work, he drives the #ChangeAlexNow campaign and has secured corporate partners to support its work.
Through the practice and its multi-business ownership model, his long-term ambition is to help build a city owned by its people. Alexandra is the source of that belief: a new City of Alexandra will come.
