Operations
Maduna Foundation Development Agency
The Agency manages and runs the daily operations of the ecosystem. It is also the register through which various professionals join to operate the businesses together with the firm of chartered accountants.
What the Agency does
Four operating functions
Ownership only builds wealth when the businesses are run properly. That work sits with the Agency.
01
Daily operations
The Agency runs the day-to-day operations of every business in the ecosystem — farms, stores, franchises, fuel sites, logistics and service companies — under the supervision of the firm's chartered accountants.
02
Professional register
Accountants, agricultural specialists, retail managers, engineers, artisans, logistics operators and administrators register with the Agency to be deployed into operating businesses.
03
Standards and reporting
The Agency applies one operating standard across all businesses: uniform records, stock and cash controls, procurement discipline and monthly reporting into the Stratum platform.
04
Development pipeline
New sites, developments and business units are scoped, built and commissioned by the Agency before they are opened to member ownership.
Structure
How the ecosystem fits together
Five entities, one system. Each has a distinct role, and the same standard applies to every business inside it.
- 01
Luthando Maduna & Co Chartered Accountants
The professional firm. Accounting, tax, payroll, company secretarial, assurance and advisory work, plus oversight of every business in the ecosystem.
- 02
Stratum Fintech
The ownership platform. Members sign up, contribute from R250 per month, hold their participation and view performance and distributions.
- 03
SAMBO members
The owners. Private individuals who hold participation across the interlinked businesses and shop inside the ecosystem they own.
- 04
Maduna Foundation Development Agency
The operator. Manages daily operations and registers the professionals who run the businesses.
- 05
Luthando Maduna Foundation NPC
The social impact vehicle. Trains graduates and places them into operating businesses in the ecosystem.
Security of funds
Where member money sits
All member funds are secured on the FNB banking infrastructure. Members have access to their funds and records through their own banking profiles and through the Stratum platform as SAMBO members.
